Deja Vu, All Over Again…

Following the end of the Second World War, America and the World took a quick, collective sigh of relief. I say quick because almost immediately following the conflict, one time allies squared off against each other in grabs for territory and power.

Today, we see similar signs of those long gone days. America sits at odds against such nations as Russia, China and North Korea. The political and military tensions between these countries continues to escalate and the world sits in the middle trying to decide where to turn.

Organizations designed to alleviate such tensions have proven to be ineffective. NATO and the UN are proving less capable of curbing the tensions than a teacher trying to stymie a school yard fight. The sense of trouble on the horizon dominates world news.

In America, we are dealing with “woke” counter-culture distractions from the issues that are shaking the very foundation of world security. Russia has, in effect, occupied the Artic Circle, China has extended its political and financial grasp into the very heart of American sovereignty. North Korea continues to posture and threaten South Korea and its surrounding countries. No response from the White House has been issued, nor is it expected to be.

Perhaps the time has come for the citizenry of America to disavow the idea of being the protector of the weak, disenfranchised, and downtrodden and admit what really is going on. Our leaders, our government, and ultimately our nation itself has sold out to the highest bidder. I am only sorry it wasn’t Great Britain or Switzerland.

Like the man said, “It’s deja vu all over again.”
